Coach Clemense Westerhof
In preparation for next month’s crucial world cup qualifier between Nigeria and Malawi, former Super Eagles handler, Clemense Westerhof has predicted that the African champions will silence their Malawian counterparts with three unreplied goals in the encounter.
The game which would hold in Calabar is the final round of games in the group state of the qualification for Brazil 2014.
The self-acclaimed Dutch-Gerian, who led the Super Eagles to the 1994 African Cup of Nations triumph, coupled with winning the first world cup ticket for the country same year, made his prediction convincingly.
According to sources, Westerhof, who spoke from his home in Netherlands said, "Super Eagles playing Malawi in Calabar? That's a good match. Eagles will win 3-0. The Eagles are African champions. Nigeria has good players. Keshi knows what to do. He played under me and he learned well from me. He's done so well so far and he'll take the Eagles to the next World Cup."
Furthermore, Coach Westerhof said, "Malawi will not stop the Eagles. Nigeria will win 3-0 and go to the next round and then the World Cup."
Only two-points separates both teams on the log and Malawi must win the encounter to upstage Nigeria, while Nigeria only need to avoid defeat in order to qualify for the next play-off round of the qualification.
