Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, the son of the Chairman, Northern Elders Forum, Prof Ango Abdullahi, who was among the seven released Kaduna-Abuja train victims on Wednesday, appealed to the Federal Government to take urgent steps to ensure the quick release of the remaining 43 victims.

Bandits had attacked and kidnapped 63 Kaduna-Abuja-bound train travellers after killing some and injuring many others.

Nonetheless, some of the victims were released at different intervals based on the understanding between the bandits and the federal government or families of the victims.

Seven of the remaining 51 victims were released after spending over 100 days in captivity on Saturday, July 9, 2022, among them, was the son of the Chairman, Northern Elders Forum, Prof Ango Abdullahi, Mr. Sadiq Ango Abdullahi.

Abdullahi tweeted, “Alhamdulillah… I regained freedom after 104 days in captivity. I thank the many people out there, family, friends, and well-wishers that prayed and wished for my safe return during these trying times.”

He said he left 43 other victims in the kidnappers’ den including aged women and children.

According to him, it is a big relief to be home with family but I am afraid that relief is temporary knowing I left 43 others, including aged women and children below the age of 10 that are still in captivity waiting and hoping to be rescued. I am once again calling on the Federal Government and all Nigerians to help secure the release of the remaining victims
