Chief Diepreye Alameyeseigha, Former Governor of Bayyelsa State
THE former governor of Bayelsa State, Chef Diepreye Alameyeseigha yesterday drummed support for the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan, saying that he deserves second term.
Speaking while addressing newsmen after paying private visit to the Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi in Ibadan, he described Jonathan as one of the best leaders the country could be proud of considering his silent achievements.
He noted that though the Jonathan had not declared his ambition for second term, the former governor said that he deserves another four years to complete his good works.
He expressed optimism that the internal crisis rocking the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was as a result of power shift from the ethnic group that had dominated governance in the past, adding that the issues would soon be resolved which would make the party a formidable front to win future elections.
He said that the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was not a threat to PDP as the merger was a marriage of inconveniences which would soon boomerang.
He noted that the formation of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) was championed by PDP members in 2005 to serve as alternative to the third term ambition of the former president.
He assured that President Jonathan would address the perceived marginalization of South West in allocation of political offices, noting that there was no way all regions could be satisfied.
