The Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria, YOWICAN has accused the Federal Government of being nonchalant about the current spate of insecurity in the country.

According to the report, the association has called on the federal government to declare a State of Emergency on security in Nigeria ass its not doing enough to end the issue of terrorism.

The chairman, North-Central zone of YOWICAN, Daniel Kazai, while addressing journalists in Lafia said the declaration will help put an end to the incessant killing of innocent Nigerians.

Mr. Kazai who accused President Goodluck Jonathan of neglecting his duties instead he is concentrating on his re-election plans said

“Some leaders are being unconcern about the unfortunate happenings in the country”.

“It is very unfortunate that our leaders are so heartless, selfish, so unconcern about what is happening to our people.

“You will see that while lives are being lost on daily basis, our selfish politicians are going from one place to another, canvassing for votes and I wonder who will vote them if the people are all killed”.

“Just yesterday we read in the media that the Boko Haram group has deniedever having any cease fire agreement with the federal government and we have continued to record more killings in the affected parts of the country.

So it means that the said agreement has not been taken in anywhere and the security agents must sustain their efforts in the fight against this wicked people”.

Recall recently on October 29, the Islamist group, Boko Haram stormed Mubi, Adamawa state as they carried out a massive attack causing residents to flee including troops.

Just yesterday, it was reported that the Boko Haram insurgents attacked a predominantly Christian community of Sabon Gari on the border of Borno and Adamawa state, killing several people.
