The Liberian detained publisher of FrontPage Africa newspaper, Rohdney Sieh was reportedly hospitalized late Tuesday at John F. Kennedy Hospital in Monrovia.

The publisher who was charged to court for libel against former Agriculture Minister J. Chris Toe, was jailed a week ago for inability to pay a $1.5 million fine imposed by the court for the same charge.

Disclosing this, FrontPage Africa editor, Wade Williams said the ailing publisher was not allowed to be seen by authorities.

“I received a call almost past 1 o’clock this morning from someone at the hospital who said Rodney was brought here by people at the Monrovia Central Prison.  And so, I hurriedly came and there were other people who were here, including some of Rodney’s relatives,” she said.
