Pharmacists in Nigeria, numbering thousands, have begun to hasten up preparations as the 95th Annual National Conference of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) remains just 59 days to kick off.
The conference, tagged “Medicine Security inan Unstable Economy”,which will start on October 31st and end on November 5th, 2022, will be held at Chrispan Suites and Events Centre, Rayfield in Jos, Plateau state.
Speaking with CEOAFRICA on Friday, September 1, the National President of PSN, Prof. Cyril Odianose Usifoh, said that the coordination committee for the conference has started preparations and all arrangements have been done to have a hitch-free conference.
According to him, “As today is Friday, it remains 59 days to our national conference. We have started all the necessary preparations and every arrangement has been done. All our invited guests have been re-contacted and they have given their full assurance of coming.”
Speaking on the conference, Usifo stated that the conference will be full of thought-provoking and highly educative lectures, that will span through different aspects of Pharmacy.
Hestressed that the conference will also enhance networking opportunity, by allowing pharmacists to meet their peers and front-liners in their chosen career and other things that interest them.
Recall that CEOAFRICA had earlier reported Plateau state’s eagerness to host the pharmacists, as stated by the state’s governor, Rt Hon. Barr. Simon BakoLalong, whom he said have been helpful to the health and socio-economic development of the state.
He stated this on May 11, 2022 while receiving the National President of the group at the new Government House in Jos.
Lalong who accepted to be part of the conference said that the State Government will give all necessary support to ensure a successful National Conference, in line with the state’s history of hospitality and accommodation.
He observed that the choice of Jos as the host city for PSN National Conference is another testimony and dividend of the peace efforts that the Rescue Administration has put in place over the past seven years.
