Okorocha Donates Patrol Bikes To NSCDC

The Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha has donated 32 security and patrol motorbikes with inbuilt communication gadget to the Imo state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), under the ‘Imo My Pride Project’.

Addressing newsmen in Owerri, the Imo state capital, the state Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Adamu Soja, on behalf of the Commandant-General described gesture as a calculated one which is coming at a time when security is being tackled wholistically in the state.

He added that the implications of the Imo governor’s donations will also ensure the effective control of traffic in the state capital.

Mr Soja also noted that the bikes which are equipped with modern communication gadgets will be assigned to some of his officers that will be strategically deployed to handle cases of kidnapping, human trafficking, bag-snatching on motorcycles, tricycle criminalities and dangerous driving.

Meanwhile, the Director General of ‘Imo My Pride Project’ Mr Sunny Chiadi said the project of the Okorocha-led administration is aimed at changing the behavioural pattern of Imo citizens as regards obedience to traffic laws, cleanliness and complete removal of street hawkers in the state capital.
