The heat of Nation-Wide protest of Students under the umbrella of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has gotten to Benin, Edo state, as students have grounded the ever busy Benin-Ore Expressway over the prolonged strike action of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (NANS).
The body, which began its protests on Tuesday decried what it described as ‘’Federal Government’s irresponsibility” towards Education, especially towards resolving issues with the striking lecturers.
CEOAFRICA had earlier reported that the Federal Government through the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige had sued ASUU to the Industrial Court over the ongoing strike, claiming that the Union had refused to call off the strike despite Government’s intervention.
One of the protesters on Friday said “End ASUU strike now! We’re tired, enough is enough!”
