As Lagos is left with confusion caused by a protest by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), on Lagos Airport road, the Kwara State chapter of the Association has threatened to embark on a peaceful protest and occupy Kwara Airport, if the ongoing strike is not suspended
The NANS Kwara Chairman, Salman Issa, who spoke to Newsmen during an interview on Monday, in Ilorin, said that the members are waiting for directives from its National secretariat.
Issa said once the National body gives the directives to the remaining States, they will comply with the protest.
The Chairman said the directives given so far covers the Zone ‘D’ of NANS comprising just the South-West States.
Issa noted that the National President of NANS is employing the means of dialogue and engagement with necessary stakeholders to solve the ongoing strike by ASUU.
He said; “The directives of the protest are only binding on South West states which have been ongoing for the past five days.
“When given a directive, we shall comply too.’’
Meanwhile, the General Secretary of Unilorin SUG, Isaac Adeleye, while speaking with Newsmen said the Union is working on the best possible ways to solve the situation.
“We are collaborating with the Kwara axis of NANS to see what will happen next.’’
