Rivers state governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has alleged that the National Chairman, People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Iyorchia Ayu, received the sum of one billion naira from a presidential candidate.
The governor, who was speaking this morning, Friday, September 23, 2022, did not however, mention the name of the candidate who had the deal with the PDP Chairman. 
Wike further claimed that the money was given to Ayu in Lagos and the embattled national chairman never remitted same to the party’s coffers.
The aggrieved former presidential aspirant also noted that the PDP’s chair tried to manipulate many contestants, including Sen. (Dr) Bukola Saraki and others to step down from contesting, prior to the party’s presidential primaries.
