The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) 2021 Batch C Stream II passed out 1085 corps members from the various local government areas in Gombe State, on Thursday.
It was reported that four corps members absconded while six got extension to their service year.
The State coordinator Mrs Ada Imoni, while addressing the corps members urged them to not despise meagre beginnings by putting to use the skills acquired through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme.
Imoni stressed that the era for dependence on the Government for white collar jobs had passed, urging them to think of ways to start up businesses for self-reliance.
The State coordinator appealed to them to say no to thuggery and other social vices as the scheme prepared corps members for the General elections come 2023.
Imoni commended those who stood out in CDS by leaving indelible prints in their host communities.
“Six out of the 1085 Corps members that passed out got extension of service for various offences committed, while four absconded from service,” she added.
