INEC to meet IGP, Ortom, others over 2023 elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2022, meet governors, security agents and some presidential candidates ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The interactive session is billed to hold at Nicon Luxury, Abuja.
It will be attended by the INEC Commissioner for Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye; Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje; his counterpart in Bauchi, Bala Mohammed; Benue Governor, Samuel Ortom; and the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba.
Others include the presidential candidates of Action Alliance, Hamza Al-Mustapha; Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, Yabagi Sani; Nigerian Union of Journalists and other stakeholders in the electoral process.
This was contained in a statement on Wednesday by the organiser of the programme, Edwin Olofu.
Olofu, who is also the Managing Director of Platinum Post, said participants at the roundtable will debate how the country can achieve a credible and violent-free election next year.
It was stated that Al-Mustapha will deliver a keynote address on the theme, ‘Contemporary Security Challenges & its Effects on 2023 Elections.’
