From Abidjan, the capital of Cote D’Ivoire, CEOAFRICA sports desk gathered that the male basketball team of Nigeria known as D’Tigers, narrowly lost their quarterfinal tie to their Senegalese counterparts by 63-64 and crashed out of the ongoing Afro-Basketball Championships.

The Nigerian team which had defeated Cameroun, Central African Republic, Mali and DR Congo, lost their firs and only encounter in the championship, and the loss prove too costly because the dream of playing at the FIBA World Championship has been shattered with the defeat.

The Senegalese will play Egypt in the first semifinal while CIV will play Angola in the second semifinal.
