The Rivers chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), has tackled the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the State over its decision to withdraw the suit it filed against Governor Nyesom Wike’s Executive Order 21 and 22.
Spokesman for the Rivers PDP Campaign Council, Ogbonna Nwuke, said contrary to its assertion, APC withdrew the suit it filed against the executive orders which was before Justice Emmanuel Obile because it realized that it was frivolous, defective and baseless.
“We want to congratulate the APC for doing what is right by withdrawing a frivolous and inconsequential suit brought against Orders 21 and 22.”
“For once, the APC has told the Rivers people the truth. The truth is that it deliberately attempted to misled public opinion by going to court.”
“As we know now, there was never any substance in the suit. What we cannot comprehend is why the APC is trying to say it withdrew for strategic reasons. What is strategic in telling lies?”
Nwuke, the Chairman, Publicity & Communications Committee of PDP further said that APC cannot be approbating and reprobating at the same time.
“Having withdrawn the suit, the APC cannot in all honesty claim that the executive orders are still illegal?” the party queried.”
PDP further disputed claim by APC that it withdrew the suit for strategic reasons.
“The only strategic reason that we know which has led the APC to withdraw the suit, is the realization that there is no way it could win a matter that is deceitful, frivolous, defective and baseless.
The PDP urged the Rivers people to shun the APC, saying the party is populated by pretenders.
“These people are pretenders. They are not patriots. They are people without a plan. They have no vision and certainly do not love the people of Rivers State.”
“On the other hand, the PDP has proof of its sincerity, focus and determination.”
“Our State is registering progress because of the PDP. The achievement of Governor Nyesom Wike is proof of what the PDP represents.”
“Which is why we urge the Rivers people to vote for Siminalayi Fubara. He is not a product of lies and backstage manipulation as we have in the APC.” Nwuke said.
