The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has cast his vote in his home state in Adamawa, saying that he is optimistic of emerging victorious at the end of the exercise.
he former vice president, who spoke to journalists after casting his vote, said he was satisfied with the conduct so far. Atiku is one of the front runners in today’s presidential election.
Atiku cast his vote at 9:08am at Ajiya 012 Polling Unit in Yola North Local Government Area of the state, amid crowd of supporters.
Shortly after casting his vote, Atiku told journalists that he was optimistic of winning the 2023 election as Nigerians were behind his candidacy.
He expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the presidential and National Assembly elections so far, commending security agents for ensuring peaceful and orderly process.
“I expect that this is a more credible process and I think it is good we are improving with every election circle.
“I have cast my vote. I hope to emerge victorious. So far there is no problem with the process but we have to wait and see how the voting goes,” he said.
He stated that he had been contesting for presidency to ensure the development of democracy in our country as well improve the lives of Nigerians.
