Inspector-General of Police Assures PDP Delegates to the National Convention Adequate Security of Lives and Properties

Ahead of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention in Abuja, capital city of Nigeria, the country’s Inspector-General of Police, Mohamed Abubakar, has assured delegates of adequate security and itch-free convention.

According to a release credited to the Police Chief, and endorsed by the Force PRO Frank Mba, the Police are on red alert to ensure the smoothness of the Convention.

Meanwhile, road users within and outside Abuja have been informed that all routes leading to Eagle Square, venue of the 2013 PDP National Convention, would be barricaded with effect from 4:00 pm on Friday, August 30, 2013 and traffic diverted at the following points;

  • Ahmed Bello Way Fly-over,
  • Benue Plaza Road,
  • Ministry of Finance Junction,
  • Bullet Junction,
  • Bayelsa House Junction and
  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs Fly-Over.

Affected roads will be re-opened to traffic and the public as soon as the convention activities are over. Motorists should please use alternative roads within the Central Area while convention last.
