JUST IN: Jubilation In Yola as Fintiri appoints Bamanga Tukur’s son as new Adamawa SSG

There were massive jubilations in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, as news filtered into town that Governor Ahmadu Fintiri had appointed Honourable Awwal Tukur, son of the former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Bamanga Tukur, as the new Secretary to the Adamawa State Government

Governor Fintiri, while announcing the appointment, said Hon Tukur, as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), deserved the appointment more than anybody else because he has been loyal to the party all throughout the struggles.

Tukur was a former member of the House of Representatives in 1999 and shortly after that he went private business before returning to serve as Pro-Chancellor of the Adamawa State University, Mubi and later the Director General of the Adamawa Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Council in the 2023 general elections.

Gov Fintiri also announced the appointment of Dr Edgar Amos as Chief of Staff of the Government House, Edgar was the Head Service of Adamawa State before his latest appointment.

Following the appointment, Shehu Isa Ardo, who is the most senior civil servant in the state, will take over from Dr Edgar.

Ardo is also due for retirement shortly and some names have been penciled down to succeed him and one of the names on the list is the brilliant Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance in the state, Hajiya Gyatam Bassi.
