The remain of Professor Opeyemi Isaac Ajewole of the University of Ibadan who was murdered by suspected assassins on Monday 5th June, 2023 is set for final burial on 4th July, 2023.

The demise was made known by the family, thus: 'Ajewole family regret to announce the passing away of their Father, Husband, Brother, Uncle, and Friend.'

As part of the funeral arrangements to honor the deceased, programme has been scheduled as follow:

Night of Tributes:

Sunday, July 2, 2023, with Procession from his Faculty to Trenchard Hall from 5 pm to 6 pm.

Tributes:

Trenchard Hall University of Ibadan, Ibadan by 6pm - 7pm.

Christian Wake keep:

Monday, July 3, 2023, at the Men of Issachar Vision Inc., Olororo, Ojoo Road, Ibadan, by 4 pm.

Exequies:

Tuesday 4th of July 2023 at the Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, from 7 am to 8 am.

Also, Church Service will come by 10 am at The Men of Issachar Vision Inc., Olororo, Ojoo Road, Ibadan.

Professor Opeyemi Isaac Ajewole was born on March 6, 1962. Until his demise on June 5, 2023, he was a senior lecturer in the department of Agriculture, University of Ibadan, Nigeria.

He was survived by his wife, children, friends, and relatives. May his soul rest in perfect peace.

Recall his demise was widely reported in national daily that Prof Ajewole was gunned down by suspected assassins on Monday evening 5th June, 2023 on his way home from work.

The news of his passing was received by all with rude shock and great sadness. As the astute professor, a great man of inestimable quality, who had touched the lives of many positively goes back to his Maker, we wish him eternal rest.
