The Association of Nollywood Core Producers, ANCOP, has petitioned EFCC and SFU over the N50 million largesse donated by Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State to support the industry.

CEOAFRICA news correspondence has gathered that the Nollywood Association has called for the attention of EFCC and SFU to investigate the matter because it has noticed massive fraud in the disbursement of the N50 million funds.

The group however, in the copy of the petition signed by the Association’s President, Comrade Alex Eyengho, requires that the anticrime agencies summon the distributors of the fund to clarify why they should obtain and disburse it without the consent of the stakeholders in the industry.

It has been alleged that some group of Nollywood has earlier obtained the N50 million pledge from Governor Akpabio in Uyo under the cover of non-existent Guild of Nollywood Stars.

The Nollywood Association is therefore demanding for immediate investigation into the alleged fraudulent act, stating that it calls for huge anarchy in the industry if urgent attention is not given to clarify the state of things.
