News reaching the desk of CEOAFRICA.com from Bayelsa State in Nigeria is that the bridge linking Igbogene and Okoloibiri communities in Yenagoa collapsed few hours ago.

Confirming the incident, Mr. Vincent Jack, state Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said the agency had commenced rescue efforts, as motorists and other road users were urged to use other alternatives and avoid the routes.

According to our source, Mr. Jack told journalists that personnel have been dispatched to divert traffic from the affected area to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

Investigation is currently ongoing to unravel the cause of the incident.
