From North Yorkshire in Britain, CEOAFRICA.com gathered that a Nigerian Soldier has collapsed and died while on a three-mile training run on moorland.

Confirming the incident, Ministry of Defence said Pte Michael Ihemere, was pronounced dead on Barden Moor, Leyburn. He was said to be a serving member of the first Battalion Mercian Regiment.

According to his commanding officer, Lt Col Mark Ellwood, the 26 year-old was a reliable, talented and popular soldier, respected by all across his company.

Ihemere, who joined the Army in November 2011, was posted to the 1^st Battalion Mercian Regiment last September and deployed to Afghanistan the following month.
