The Lagos State Action for Democracy governorship candidate, Mr. Bolaji Ogunseye, escaped what appeared to be an attack at the weekend.

Recounting his experience, a visibly shaken Ogunseye said some intruders suspected to be assassins broke into his Ikeja home on December 27th.

The candidate, who has been spending time with his children who are home in Lagos for Christmas holidays, was according to him, advised based on a prophetic vision to avoid sleeping in his residence on December 27.

He rationally resisted and said he would prefer to beef up security at home on that day, rather than running into hiding with his family. However on the insistence of the pastor, he agreed to leave his home and spent the night with his family at some other location in the city.

But upon returning home at 7.30 a.m the following day (Sunday morning), he found the security iron-door of the main entrance to the duplex house ajar as well as other doors.

Frightened, he alerted the estate security and later went to the police to report the incidence.

An inspector came with him to the house and after an investigative survey of the whole compound, it was discovered that the security wire mesh on the fence of the back house was crushed together; fuelling the assumption that it was the entry point for the intruders.

After an exhaustive investigation they found out that no item was stolen from the house, strengthening the belief that the invaders had ulterior motives.
Mr. Ogunseye was invited to make a statement at the Alausa police station as investigation continues on the case.

What puzzled some friends of the AD candidate is why anyone will want to go after a candidate who is not from either of the two giant parties?
