As agricultural development is essential for sustainable food security, the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (FCAH&PT), Moor Plantation, Ibadan will celebrate its 60th Anniversary from Tuesday, April 2, 2024 to Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Dr. K.J Nwufoh Hall within the college.

The special occasion of celebrating six decades of excellence in agricultural training, set to attract dignitaries, academicians, agriculturists, technologists, farmers etc, is themed “Harnessing the Potentials of Colleges of Agriculture to Achieve Food Security in Nigeria”.

Different activities, such as convocation, luncheon, price giving, alumni activities etc., are on the line-up of events for the auspicious occasion. On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, the anniversary will begin by 9am with Road Show and Awareness, Students’ Carnival at Oluyole, Ring Road, Aleshinloye, and Apata; Medical Outreach of Free Breast, Prostrate & Cervical Cancer Screening; Veterinary Outreach of Free Deworming & Vaccination at Gbekuba, Adabeji, and Apata; as well as Farmers’ Forum by 4pm at Dr. K.J Nwufoh Hall.

Opening ceremony of the event holds on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 by 9am at Dr. K.J Nwufoh Hall. Highlights of the day are, Anniversary and Convocation Lecture; Award/Fundraising; Exhibition at Prof E. A. Adebowale Training Hall, I.A.R&T; Project Commissioning/SOD Turning and Cocktail by 5pm.

Thursday, April 4, 2024 is the Convocation Ceremony and Price Giving Ceremony by 9am at Dr. K.J Nwufoh Hall; while Luncheon after holds at FCA Hall.On Friday, April 5, 2024, Alumni Activities will hold at Dr. K.J Nwufoh Hall by 9am; and Jumat Service at I.A.R&T Central Mosque by 2pm.

A Novelty Match at the Bara Sport Field will hold by 9am on Saturday, April 6, 2024; while Students Activities such as Variety Show, Beauty Pageant and Talent Hunt will hold by 12pm on the same day at Dr. K.J Nwufoh Hall. The 60th anniversary concludes with an Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service and Closing Ceremony on Sunday, April 7, 2024 by 12pm at Dr. K.J Nwufoh Hall.

Chief Host of the event is the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr Oluseyi A. Makinde; Royal Father of the day is, the Olubadan-designate, His Royal Highness Oba Owolabi Olakuleyin. The Honourable Minister for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari (CON), is the Special Guest of Honour of the anniversary.Guest of Honour is the Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Aliyu S. Abdullahi (CON); and Special Guest is the Executive Secretary, Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria, Professor Garba H. Sharubutu.

The Guest Speaker at the college anniversary is the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Gombe State, Alhaji Mohammed Mogaji Ibrahim. Host is the Provost of the college, Dr. Adekoya O. Owosibo. The Chairperson, Anniversary Committee is Dr. Folasade O. Ajasin (FCVSN). Chairperson of the Occasion and a Distinguished Alumnus is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Animal Care Services Konsult, Dame Olufunmilayo Agbato.

Distinguished personalities to be honoured at the Award and Gala Night include, the First Lady, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr Oluseyi A. Makinde; the Executive Governor of Gombe State, His Excellency, Gov. Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya; Executive Governor of Plateau State, Gov. Caleb Mutfwang; Executive Governor of Ogun State, Gov. Dapo Abiodun; Executive Governor of Niger State, Gov.
