Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology announces 2020/2021 admission process

IBADN- Saturday 10, April 2021: The management of the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Moor Plantation, Ibadan, has announced that the 2020/2021 Academic Session admission portal is open.

The leadership of the college also urged prospective students who meet all the entry requirements and wish to enroll at the institution to do so via the College admission portal.

CEOAFRICA, in a release signed by the College Registrar, Ven. Babatope David, gathered that candidates who wish to pursue full time accredited two-year National Diploma (ND), part time three year National Diploma and Higher National Diploma (HND) can as well apply.

The Registrar noted that interested JAMB candidates,  who meet the required UTME subject combination for their respective courses and scored 120 and above are advised, irrespective of whether they chose the College or not, to register for change of institution and course on the JAMB portal.

Available Courses

According to the admission release, available courses for the National Diploma include: Animal Health and Production Technology, National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology, National Diploma in Fisheries Technology, National Diploma in Statistics, National Diploma in Computer Science, and National Diploma in Veterinary Laboratory, while available programmes for the Higher National Diploma are: Higher National Diploma in Animal Production Technology, Higher National Diploma in Animal Health Technology, Higher National Diploma in Agricultural Extension and Management, Higher National Diploma in Fisheries Technology, Higher National Diploma in Pasture and Range Management, Higher National Diploma in Agribusiness, Higher National Diploma in Statistics, and Higher National Diploma in Computer Science.

Admission Requirements

It is worthy of note that the entry requirements for both part time and full time courses are the same, the registrar stated.

“The requirement for the National Diploma in Animal Health and Production Technology is that candidates must obtain WASSCE or GCE ‘O’ Level or SSCE or NECO with a minimum of five credit passes at not more than two sittings.

“The five subjects must include Biology, Agricultural Science/Animal Husbandry, Chemistry, Economics, English Language, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics.

“Candidates must in addition obtain at least a pass grade in English Language, Mathematics, and Chemistry.  

“The requirement for National Diploma in Fisheries and Technology is same as the requirement for the National Diploma in Animal Health and Production Technology.

“Candidates applying for National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology or National Diploma in Veterinary Laboratory must hold WASSCE or GCE ‘O’ Level or SSCE or NECO with a minimum of five credit passes obtained at not more than two sittings in each of the subject: Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Physics, Chemistry.

“Candidates applying for National Diploma in Statistics or National Diploma in Computer Science must hold WASSCE or GCE ‘O’ Level or SSCE or NECO with a minimum of five credit passes obtained at not more than two sittings. “The five subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any other two from Economics, Geography, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, and Government/History.

“Candidates must in addition obtain at least a pass in English Language.

“Application for Higher National Diploma in Animal Health Technology (Full time and Part Time) attracts same requirement for the National Diploma in Animal Health and Production Technology.

 “Candidates are also expected to obtain a minimum of Lower credit pass of CGPA 2.50 in the “National Diploma in Animal Health and Production Technology from accredited programmes of recognised institutions.

“A minimum of one year post National Diploma cognate work experience (IT) is as well needed.

“Higher National Diploma in Animal Production Technology for either full time or Part Time has the same requirement with Higher National Diploma in Animal Health Technology.

“Candidates applying for Higher National Diploma in Agricultural Extension and Management; Higher National Diploma in Fisheries Technology; Higher National Diploma in Agribusiness, Higher National Diploma in Pasture and Range Management for part time or full time, are to follow the same requirements for National Diploma in Animal Health and Production Technology.

“The requirements for Higher National Diploma in Statistics and Higher National Diploma in Computer Science are the same with the requirements for National Diploma in Statistics.

However, candidates applying for the Higher National Diploma in Computer Science must possess at least Lower Credit pass or NCE in Computer Education with not less than Merit Pass or CPE 1 of CPN with at least Lower Credit and a minimum of one year post National Diploma cognate work experience (IT).”

 Application Procedure

Babatope further stated that interested National Diploma candidates are required to pay a non-refundable fee of two thousand Naira (N2,000.00) to the College ‘remitta’ account in any commercial Bank for Post UTME screening.

He added that all interested HND candidates should pay a non-refundable amount of seven thousand Naira (N7,000.00) only through REMITTA into the College Account in any commercial Bank with Account Name: FEDERAL COLLEGE OF ANIMAL HEALTH AND PRODUCTION TECH-IBADAN.

“The payment teller for either of the two payments should be brought to the College Account office for the issuance of a payment receipt.

“Prospective candidates for HND programmes should log on to the College admission portal https://admission.fcahptib.edu.ng.

“The printout and the photocopy of the payment receipt should be submitted to the candidate’s department of choice in the College,” the Registrar directed.

The announcement read in part: “All post UTME candidates should submit a photocopy of the N2, 000.00 payment receipt and their credentials to the department of their choice.

“All prospective candidates (Post UTME and HND) should bring the originals of their credentials and payment receipt to the screening venues. Registration commences immediately.

The post UTME admission screening will be on Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th April 2021. However, sales of HND forms (full and part time) and ND(Part time only) continues.”

The Management of Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Ibadan, sent a strong warning against fraudulent individuals sending messages or using fake website addresses to ask prospective students to pay various amounts of money into their individual accounts for college admissions and vocational training.

The management advised the general public to ignore such fraudulent claims.

Babatope stated that the College would not be obliged to refund any money or monies to anybody who falls prey to these fraudsters.

He further disclosed that all applicants for HND are advised to request their last institutions to forward their Academic Transcripts for National Diploma Programmes directly to the Registrar of the College.
