The Inspector-General of Police (IG) Suleiman Abba, has reiterated that the police will take all lawful measures to ensure the safety and security of Nigerians at all times.

Abba pledged the determination and readiness of the Nigeria Police Force to tackle all issues of security pertaining to the 2015 elections.

The IG, in a release signed by the Force spokesperson, Emmanuel Ojukwu, further assured the travelling public of their safety and security as they commute on Nigerian roads, following the conclusion of New Year and Eid-el Maulud celebrations.

He also stated that the police and other security agencies had been deployed strategically nationwide to ensure that law-abiding Nigerians go about their lawful businesses without fear and molestation.
