At a critical time in Nigeria that the cost of drugs has increased drastically, the National Chairman of the Association Of Community Pharmacists Of Nigeria (ACPN), Pharm. Adewale Oladigbolu, FPSN, has called on the Nigerian government to prioritize the health of her citizens.

“There is no better time than now for the government to prioritize health of the citizens by ensuring that all professionals have the enablement to perform their critical roles in the healthcare sector,” he said.

Oladigbolu made this declaration in an interview with CEOAFRICA at the recently held 2nd international Scientific Conference of the Clinical Pharmacists Association of Nigeria (CPAN) in Ikeja, Lagos.

He added that without quality healthcare, “we are going nowhere. There will be no quality of health if people have access medicine anyhow including the restricted medicines.”

Speaking on the role of clinical pharmacists, he said “the efforts of clinical pharmacists should be recognised,” expressing that they perform the function of medicine control.

“Clinical pharmacy is a connector between what we learnt in the school and what we put to practice that can benefit patients. Without pharmacists, health system will crumble.” the ACPN National Chairman said.

On the Eko Akete 2024 CPAN conference, Oladigbolu lauded the standard and quality of the conference considering its only an association of two years.
