International Decade for People of African Descent holds ‘African Liberation Day’ today

The International Decade for People of African Descent will today, 25 May 2024, gather participants for the Roots Synergy International Dialogue Roundtable Netherlands to mark ‘African Liberation Day.’

Speakers are, Dr. Doudou Diene, former UN Special Rapporteur on All Forms of Racism; Mactar Ndoyo, UN-OHCHR Anti Racial Discrimination Section and Lead of the IDPOADCluster; Dr. Michael McEachrane, Member and the Rapporteur of the UN Permanent forum on People of African Descent; Dr. Babara Reynolds, Chief of the Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent; and Dr. Barryl A. Biekman, Co-facilitator Forum IDPAD.

Aimed at connecting, sharing ideas, and fostering collaboration towards making a significant difference in the lives of African people, the topic of the event to hold at The Hague is “Second International UN Decade for People of African Descent 2025-2034”.

Major focus will be to evaluate the implementation of the International UN Decade on People of African Descent 2015-2024, formulate the Expectations regarding of the Second Decade 2025-2034 and agree on a joint position paper.

Scheduled to be a day of insightful discussions and networking where attendees connect with like-minded individuals from around the globe to explore innovative ideas and solutions. This event is also a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations and foster collaborations.
