Green Chemistry Competition: Prof Babalola lauds Chrisland students, assures varsity’s commitment at producing quality graduates

The Vice Chancellor of Chrisland University Abeokuta, Prof Chinedum Peace Babalola has reacted to the recent news of how Chrisland students topped other institutions to take first place at the Green Chemistry Competition.

Recall that CEOAFRICA reported that at the More Green Awards 2024, Chrisland University was awarded the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand naira for taking first place over other universities such as Koladaisi University Ibadan, Federal University, Wukari, First Technical University, Ibadan, Kwara State University, Obafemi Awolowo University, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, the University of Ibadan, University of Nigeria Nsukka, University of Ilorin, among others.

Reacting to the news, Prof. Babalola expressing her excitement, disclosed that it was not surprising at the students are being trained to shine in public competitions and for significant relevance in the society.

Speaking to CEOAFRICA, she said, “we are not relenting on ensuring that our students are not just one of the best in Africa but we are also producing best graduates who will be leaders of industry players and innovations across the world.”

Babalola added that it was not the first time of outshining other students at public competitions and making the institution proud, stressing that they have required facilities that enhances their quest of producing quality graduates relevant for different fields.

Endorsed by Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) and approved by Beyond Benign organisation, the More Green Awards was founded by a lecturer in the Chemical Sciences Department of TASUED, Dr. Oyesolape Basirat Akinsipo and co-founded by analytical and environmental chemist, Mrs. Anselm Oluwaseun.
