Award-winning Nigerian singer and songwriter, Tiwa Savage has released her highly anticipated single ‘Forgiveness’.
The new song, which marks Savage’s first major single of the year, was released on Friday.
In “Forgiveness,” Savage yearns to mend relationships with her love interest, pleading for absolution.
‘I don’t want material things/ What I need is a little more everyday/ I just want forgiveness/ Forgiveness for my craziness,” she sings.
Produced by Supa Dups and Digenius, ‘Forgiveness’ masterfully blends Afrobeats and RnB elements, showcasing Savage’s signature sound.
It also follows the success of the singer’s debut film ‘Water and Garri’, which premiered on Prime Video on May 10.
Savage revealed that acting was her first love but she became a musician because she had a crush on a guy.
The songstress also revealed how she has been able to balance filmmaking with motherhood and music.
“It is just having the right people and making the right decisions. We do not always have to answer or accept every offer but we do accept the ones that make sense,” she had said.
Savage has established herself as one of the prominent names in the music landscape.
Her music has gained positive reception globally. She has also won numerous awards.
