The Peoples Democratic Party Campaign Organisation in Delta State has asked contractors executing projects for the state government to support the governorship candidate of the party, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.

The Director of Communications of the campaign organisation, Mr. Funkekeme Solomon, in a meeting with the contractors, in Asaba, on Thursday, urged contractors handling the state government projects to support Okowa’s campaigns.

Funkekeme, who is the state Commissioner for Works, also charged the contractors to ensure the completion of all ongoing projects across the state according to approved scope and specification before the end of May, 2015.

He said the performance of the contractors would be used as the standard for recommending them to the next administration in the state. He maintained that given his credentials, Okowa would win the election.

“Government is a continuum and that is why you need to support Okowa because he is the most experienced. Others are either from the business community or fish sellers.

“In your revised work programme, no completion date outside May will be accepted. We expect you to double your work rate possibly by engaging more quality hands. You must continue to ensure that your work is qualitative because if not, it will damage your reputation with future government because this state will remain a PDP state.

“You need to avoid shoddy jobs because it will not help you. If you have the intention to abandon any project to embarrass the government, you will only embarrass yourself because it will surely work against you. It will not earn you any recommendation to the next administration.

“Okowa was secretary to local government, council chairman, commissioner, Secretary to State Government and now a senator. And he excelled in all the positions he has held,” Funkekeme told the contractors.
