The tranquil community of Owerre-Nkwoji came alive on January 4, 2025, as it celebrated the investiture ceremony of Pharm. Emmanuel Chidi Chukwumaeze Ezirim, who was inducted into the esteemed group of Nze in the village. The ceremony commenced at 1p.m at the Obi Ezirim/Pharm Emma Ezirim's Compound in Umoke Village.

Pharm. Emmanuel Chidi Chukwumaeze Ezirim is the son of the prominent Ezirim family, known for his contributions to the community and his commitment to upholding Igbo traditions. The investiture ceremony was attended by His Royal Majesty Boniface Chukwuemeka Unogu, the Ishigbo of Owerre-Nkwoji, High Chief Chijioke Francis Akunnia Tassie, the Chairman Council of Ndi Nze and Lord Mayor of Owerre-Nkwoji, Pharm. (Mazi) Sam Ohuabunwa, Former PSN President, and Pharm. Kenneth Onuegbu (FPSN), NAIP National Chairman as well as fellow Nzes, religious leaders, societal groups, community members, and well-wishers.

The title of Nze is one of great significance within Igbo culture, symbolizing a respected elder or leader who embodies wisdom, integrity, and a commitment to the well-being of the community. As an Nze, Ezirim is now entrusted with the responsibility of upholding traditions, guiding the younger generation, and playing a crucial role in communal decision-making processes. This honor not only recognizes his past contributions but also positions him as a guardian of cultural heritage and moral values for future generations.

In an emotional tribute, Ezirim dedicated his initiation to the memories of his late parents, Sir Josiah U. Ezirim, and Lady Cecilia N. Ezirim. As part of this heartfelt dedication, he visited their graves, honoring their legacy and support throughout his journey. "This is more than just an honor; it is a responsibility—I dedicate this title to my late parents, who taught me the values of service, humility, and love for our people. I hope to carry their legacy forward."

In a spectacular turn of events, the sky opened up with rain shortly after Ezirim’s initiation, a rare occurrence during the dry season of Harmattan. Community members viewed this as a divine affirmation of his elevation, interpreting it as a “shower of blessings from Heaven”—a miraculous sign that the ancestors had sealed his investiture as Nze OnyeOmereNaNdu.
