Former Lagos State governor and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu  and the party’s vice-presidential candidate, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, have donated N10 million and food items to the  victims of  the 2011 post-election violence in Kaduna.

The donations were presented to the affected persons shortly after the APC presidential rally in Kaduna on Monday.

While Tinubu made a donation of N10 million, Osinbajo donated bags of rice and other food items.

Speaking during the presentation, Tinubu said the money was his personal contribution to the sympathetic condition of the victims, adding that the donation has nothing to do with the APC account.

He appealed to the affected persons, which included both Christians and Muslims to remain prayerful to God and avoid any form of violence during the February general election.

Tinubu urged them to ensure that the ruling People’s Democratic Party  (PDP) is voted out of power to give way to “the party that knows that people are suffering and is ready to alleviate their suffering.

“I am making a personal donation of N10 million to Kaduna crises victims, it is
not from APC account, it is from me to you so that it can cushion your suffering.

“Please, vote for APC, Let’s strike a deal, are you ready to vote for APC and not to vote PDP? Please, say yes if you agree to vote for the APC during the election,” Tinubu said as the victims responded in the affirmative, saying, “Yes, we will vote for the APC, sai Buhari, sai Buhari and Kaduna, sai Mallam El-Rufai.”

The APC vice-presidential candidate, Prof. Osinbajo had earlier appealed to the people to relate peaceful with each other irrespective of ethnic, religious and political differences, saying that APC is not a religious party as the PDP wants Nigerians to believe.

He urged them to accept his widow’s mite of the food items, stressing that if the APC is voted into power, it would address the problems of insecurity and poverty facing Nigerians.

He, however, appealed to the APC supporters not to take the laws into their hands no matter the level of provocation from their opponents.
