Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has raised concerns over the reported presence of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, for Ebonyi State, Pauline Ugoyenka, in Osun ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

Davido expressed his concern in a post on his verified X handle on Thursday, questioning why the Ebonyi REC was in Osun despite not being the commissioner assigned to the state.

Ugoyenka was reportedly seen in Osun ahead of the election, prompting questions about the purpose of her visit.

Reacting to the development, Davido alleged that the REC was sent to Osun to influence the outcome of the election.

“She was not deployed by INEC. What is she doing in Osun?

“She was sent here from Governor Hope Uzodimma to rig. We will resist you, madam,” he wrote.

However, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had yet to issue an official statement clarifying Ugoyenka’s presence in Osun as of the time of filing this report.

The Osun governorship election is scheduled for August 15, 2026, with incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke seeking re-election.

Adeleke, who is Davido’s uncle, is expected to face stiff competition from candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, African Democratic Congress, ADC, and other political parties.
