Today marks 83 days down to "IFEADIGO 2025", and we take the time to honor the extraordinary contributions of Emeka Anyaoku. Born on January 18, 1933, in Obosi, Anambra State, Anyaoku is a distinguished diplomat and statesman who served as the third Secretary-General of the Commonwealth from 1990 to 2000.

During his decade-long tenure, Anyaoku made significant strides in promoting democracy, good governance, and human rights among member states. His diplomatic endeavors were instrumental in advocating for conflict resolution and fostering cooperative relationships among nations. Anyaoku emphasized the importance of dialogue and negotiation, which has had a lasting impact on international relations and the Commonwealth’s reputation as a platform for addressing global issues.

Anyaoku is also noted for his contributions to various international organizations, including the United Nations and the African Union. His extensive career was marked by his commitment to fostering peace and stability, particularly in the Commonwealth region. In recognition of his work, he has received numerous awards and honors, including the Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE).

Anambra State where many of our honorees hail from, is known as "Light of the Nation". This epithet reflects the state's rich cultural heritage, educational advancements and its pivotal role in Nigeria's development. IFEADIGO on the other hand translates to "light has come" which embodifies the theme of enlightenment and progress that resonate deeply with our goals.

As we look forward to the 44th Annual International Scientific Conference of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) tagged "IFEADIGO 2025," scheduled for July 22 to 27, 2025, at the International Conference Center in Awka, it is essential to underscore the importance of collaboration and innovation in the realm of community pharmacy. The theme for this year's conference, "Technology Integration and Personalized Care: The Future of Community Pharmacy Practice," aims to explore how technological advancements can transform pharmaceutical care and improve patient outcomes.

Let us draw inspiration from leaders like Emeka Anyaoku as we aim to enhance the pharmaceutical landscape in Nigeria and beyond at "IFEADIGO 2025".
