As we count down 67 days to the 44th Annual International Scientific Conference of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), it is important to recognize influential figures from Anambra State. One such esteemed individual is Humphrey Nwosu, a distinguished Nigerian civil servant who served as the chairman of the National Electoral Commission (NEC). Appointed by President Ibrahim Babangida, he held this pivotal office from 1989 to 1993.
Humphrey Nwosu, a professor of political science at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), is best known for his role in conducting the June 12, 1993 election, which is widely regarded as the most free and fair election in Nigeria's history. This landmark election resulted in the victory of Chief Moshood Abiola, a moment hailed by many as a turning point in the nation’s democratic journey.
Hailing from Ajali in Oru North LGA, Anambra State, Nwosu's contributions to the electoral process and his commitment to democratic principles have left a lasting impact on Nigeria's political landscape. Anambra, known as the “light of the nation,” symbolizes hope and progress within Nigeria. The term “IFEADIGO” translates to “light has come,” embodying the spirit of innovation and advancement that drives the healthcare sector forward.
As we approach IFEADIGO 2025, this landmark conference scheduled from July 22 to 27, 2025, at the International Conference Center in Awka, Anambra, will explore the theme “Technology Integration and Personalized Care: The Future of Community Pharmacy Practice.” This theme emphasizes the importance of innovation in enhancing healthcare delivery, making it a fitting tribute to leaders like Humphrey Nwosu, who have championed transparency and integrity.
As we look forward to "IFEADIGO 2025," we celebrate both the innovative contributions to community pharmacy and the rich cultural heritage of Anambra State. Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare for this significant event.
