A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has slammed FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike over his statement concerning the political future of former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, in the 2027 presidential election.

According to him, Amaechi's political future rests solely in the hands of God and Nigerian voters, not his political opponents.

Eze was reacting to claims by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, that Amaechi would be unable to secure the African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential ticket in 2027.

Challenging the remark, Eze asked whether Wike had become “God or a member of the ADC” to determine Amaechi’s political future.

“In this regard, it is only God who has continued to determine Amaechi’s fate politically that will determine his fate come 2027,” Eze said, adding that party delegates not individuals would decide who carries the ADC flag.

Eze accused Wike of being obsessed with what he described as “Amaechicanism,” which he defined as the fear of Amaechi’s political comeback.

The APC chieftain also pointed to Amaechi’s achievements as former Governor of Rivers State and Minister of Transportation, portraying him as a competent leader with the determination to confront corruption if elected President.

Eze dismissed Wike’s repeated allegations about the sale of state-owned gas turbines during Amaechi’s tenure, stressing that the issue had already been explained and properly documented in previous state budgets.

He insisted that Amaechi is still a strong political force whose future rests in the hands of God and the Nigerian people.
