Abdullahi Sule, Nasarawa State Governor, has sacked Ahmed Seriki, his Senior Special Adviser on Works, for failure to obey to instructions against premature campaigns ahead of the 2027 elections.

The Senior Special Adviser to Governor Sule on Public Affairs, Mr Peter Ahemba, made this known during the monthly briefing at the NUJ Centre in Lafia.

Ahemba was responding to questions on why Governor Sule’s appointees have remained recalcitrant despite several warnings against premature campaigns.

He disclosed the governor sacked the aide who engaged in open campaigning despite repeated warnings against the act.

Seriki was reportedly sacked for daring the governor to campaign openly in favour of the former Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, who has shown interest in contesting for the governorship seat in 2027.

In another development, Ahemba said that Governor Sule has reaffirmed his commitment to completing the planned Karu flyovers and underpass project before the end of his administration in 2027.

He explained that the state government has recently secured approval from the Federal Government to construct two flyovers and an underpass in Mararaba, Karu Local Government Area of the state.

“This development is part of the government’s efforts to provide lasting solutions to the traffic challenges, particularly along the busy Karu-Mararaba corridor.

“The project will not only ease the movement for residents, motorists, and travellers but also enhance road quality and durability,” Ahemba added.
