SUPER EAGLES BLEW-OFF THE FLAMES OF MALAWI BY 2-O

The Super Eagles of Nigeria gallantly showcased their prowess and circumference in the 2014 World Cup Qualifier Match between them and their Malawian counterpart.

CEOAFRICA took record of this impression by the Super Eagles of the Football League who beat the Malawian by 2-0 at the Qualifier Match which took place at the U.J Esuene Stadium in Calabar, Cross River State Nigeria.

The Super Eagle in the first half, took the lead with 1-0 score and subsequently doubled it up in the 2nd half, and eventually the sealed their victory with 2 goals to nothing.

In the encounter which the Super Eagles dominated, the Malawians were resilient as their well-organized defense frustrated series of attempts by the African Champions. However, the deadlock was broken when Emmanuel Emenike slotted home from a true pass initiated by Ogenyi Onazi at the dot of 45 minutes.

The second half began just like the first one with Super Eagles piling up pressure on their opponent, an effort which paid-off when Nnamdi Oduamandi was brought down in the box, and Victor Moses made no mistake to convert the resulting penalty.

The Malawians were reduced to ten-men when one of their defenders was given the marching order for committing a foul.

The victory now gave Super Eagles the passage to the play-off where two-legged encounter would determine the last five countries that would represent Africa at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
