The governor of Ogun State, Samuel Ibikunle Amosun has on Thursday lamented the delay in the disbursement of the statutory allocation to states by the Federal Government.

The Ogun State governor highlighted this while inaugurating men’s wing of the Mission To Rebuild Ogun State at the M.K.O Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, stating that the allocation meant for states and local government councils were no longer fully released to them.

He purported that salaries are presently not being paid in several states in the country due to this development, noting that this is causing untold hardship to Nigerians.

Amosun revealed that workers in Ogun State had been paid their August salary, explaining that the ability of the state to pay the salary was due to the citizens’ cooperation in the payment of their taxes.

He however assured the people of Ogun State of judicious use the money in the development projects which are ongoing around the state and as well in the provision of security and free education.
