Governor Rochas Okorocha has said it will soon launch a centre for the teaching, preservation and research of the Igbo language.

CEOAFRICA news desk has gathered this as contained in a statement signed by Ngozi Onyeocha, a media aide to Governor Rochas Okorocha.

According to the statement, the move was in response to concerns that the future of the Igbo language and culture would be in jeopardy unless concrete steps were taken to ensure its survival.

The statement stated however that the centre would evolve ways to preserve the language and culture of the Igbos for the future generation and serve as an archive for Igbo cultural edifice.
