The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has declared it would embark on an indefinite strike if the Federal Government fails to pay the accumulated salaries of the doctors within two weeks.

CEOAFRICA news desk gathered according to the agitation that the Federal Government has refused to implement the agreement in line with the provision under Integrated Payroll Payment System.

This was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the 31st Annual General Meeting of NARD held in Kano on Sunday and signed by the national president, Dr Jubril Abdullahi.

Abdullahi rebuked the selective method of the payment to some doctors, while others have not been paid for four months, warning that any arrangement that negates the provisions of their agreement with the Federal Government would no longer be tolerated.

The communiqué however charged the Federal Government to abide by the international bets practice in the profession for an effective and efficient practice, warning that the professionals will no longer rescind their decision on the strike.
