THE SITE OF ZUNGERU DAM
The Zungeru Hydro Electricity Dam has been flagged off for construction and expected to generate 700 megawatts (MW) of electricity and bridge the nation’s power deficit.
CEOAFRICA news correspondence gathered that Zungeru dam project which was awarded to CNEEC, Sino Hydro Corporation, a China-based company at a cost of $1.3 billion, is expected to complement the efforts of the private investors that have just bought the successor companies of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) on completion.
Timothy Oyedeji, Power Ministry spokesperson explained that the Chinese firm has already delivered to the construction site equipment worth N371, 416,800 and also placed order for other construction equipment valued at over $12,000,000.
