From Birnin Kebbi, in Kebbi State, Nigeria, CEOAFRICA.com gathered that the state government has put every measure in place to relocate floods victims, including sanctioning those who refused to move.

Speaking about the afore-mentioned, Alhaji Hussaini Raha, Commissioner of Lands and Housing, told newsmen that the ministry had allocated 203 plots of 1,000-square metre residential land to the victims of the flood which ravaged the area between 2010 and 2013.

He then said that the government would not bear the burden of those who refused to move, should any flood disaster occur.

The honourable commissioner further commended efforts of Alh. Muhammadu Kwaido, the Chairman of Kebbi State Committee on Resettlement of Flood Victims, for the prudent way he managed the resources meant for flood victims.

Raha noted that the committee returned N82.9 million to the government coffers after the disbursement of the compensation.
