The wife of the Senate Majority Leader and the  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the April 11 governorship election in Oyo State, Barrister (Chief) Angela Folarin has declared total support for the Pro-Life and Family Life programme of the Catholic Church of Nigeria.

She made this declaration in Ibadan in support and promotion of the programme of ProLife gospel of sanctity of life.

The programme as enunciated by the Bishops of Ibadan Catholic Ecclesiastical Province in the recently concluded International Conference Session held at Ibadan between April 13 – 15, 2015, unanimously submitted that threat to the sanctity of human life in whatever disguise must be discredited and subsequently stopped.

Barr. Folarin reasoned that life as a gift from God is of inestimable value hence must be protected and guided from all forms of evil values as presently being celebrated in science and technological modern way of life.

She added that cultural values that warmly welcome abortion, euthanasia, same sex marriage, hedonism, and other unethical family life must be shunned for a healthy and godly family living to make for a better society where the fear of God and the sanctity of human life reign supreme.

"Let us be mindful that God is the author of life and has divinely arranged for all his creatures. Man, being highly favoured by God is given the power to protect and tender, and not to obstruct the beautiful works of creation" she cautioned.

She stated further that her foundation, Sidikatu Abebi Foundation which is saddled with the responsibility of extending charity to orphans and widows will support and uphold the vision of ProLife programme in all ramifications.

According to her, "Sidikatu Abebi Foundation will be identifying with this coure and it is therefore inclined to support and promote the Pro Life gospel of sanctity of life locally and internationally."

She declared that the theme of the conference: "A Call to Duty to Protect Human Life and Family Values in the Encroaching Culture of Death" should not be viewed as solely the responsibility of the Church, but a global clarion call to duty of all well-meaning people and nations to reflect and rise to defend the sanctity of human life. "Evil they say dominates when people of goodwill refuse to act." She reminded.

"We must all be up and doing to take this timely message religiously to all who believe in the preservation of God’s creation of humankind." she concluded.
