Vice President Yemi Osinbajo yesterday formally took over the mantle of leadership of the villa chapel located inside Aso Rock, Abuja.

Osinbajo attended service in the chapel for the first time accompanied by his wife, Dolapo; Bishop Wale Oke of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries; Senior Pastor, Living Waters Unlimited Church, Pastor Ladi Thompson and other clerics.

Being a pastor himself, the vice president did not only deliver a goodwill message to the congregation but also conducted the benediction.

He later proceeded to the children’s church where he prayed and took photographs with the children in the company of members of his entourage.

The Aso Villa Chapel was built by the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo as a place where the President or the Vice President that is a Christian worships.

If the president or his deputy is a Christian, he automatically become the political head, with the President’s or Vice President’s chaplain as the spiritual head.

Osinbajo was absent penultimate Sunday when former President Goodluck Jonathan had wanted to hand over the chapel to him.
