Agony erupted few hours ago in Abuja, as gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram Islamists opened fire at security operatives near a legislative building in Abuja, with many people injured.

Confirming the incident, Spokesperson for the Department of State Service, Marilyn Ogar said, “In the early hours of (Friday)… a security team went for an operation behind the Apo legislative quarters… they came under heavy gunfire attack by … Boko Haram elements,” leading to a shootout which injured “some people”.
