The ongoing political unrest in Egypt took a new twist as dozens raided the main headquarters of the ruling Muslim Brotherhood in Mokattam. This took place following a night of clashes between the opponents and supporters of the Islamist group, CEOAFRICA news desk gathered.

A number of Brotherhood supporters, who had opened fire on the attackers, escaped from inside the headquarters, as the number of death increased to seven and 47 wounded, the Middle East News Agency detailed.

However, one of the members of Egypt’s rulling Islamist group has been captured by the protesters, and handed over to the police.

Recently, some of the protesters threw stones and firebombs at the building until a fire erupted.

This follows rally staged by the opponent of President Mursi in Tahrir Square, to demand his removal and call for early presidential election.
