NUPENG strike in Nigeria enter day 2

The Oyo State Chapter of National Union of Petroleum, Energy and Natural Gas Worker NUPENG has vowed to penalised any of it members who fails to comply with the directive of the National secretariat body of NUPENG.

The Adviser, Informal sector Lagos Comrade Oluleye Olayemi in an interview with CEOAFRICA correspondent Dammy Badejo said that NUPENG has strict measures of penalising it members.

He said that some member has been sent to monitor the level of compliance in Omi, Apata, Challenge, Orita, iwo road, Akanran, Idi-Ape, Mokola, Kila areas of Ibadan metropolis.

He said though the compliance yesterday was low due to the fact that their members did not receive information in time.

On the issue of their member who was detained by Oyo state Government, he said that there has been no response from government yet adding that OYO NUPENG will not end it strike action until the Union is invited for a meeting and Comrade Olaolu Fakunle is released from detention.

He added that all the outrageous levies and double taxation on all it members must stop hence no filling station will open.

Comrade Olayemi also called on the people of the state to bear with NUPENG as an injustice to one is injustice to all
