
Prof. Ade Abolurin
The former Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Prof. Ade Abolurin has officially handed over the mantle of leadership to his successor, Mr. Abdullahi Mohammed Gana.
Abolurin who handed over to the new Civil Defence boss yesterday , in Abuja after serving the corps meritoriously, said, he has confidence, that Gana who has been under his tutelage will do exploits and thus, place the corps on a better and admirable state.
Presenting the NSCDC flag which symbolises the transfer of mantle to Gana, he said, “I have confidence that Gana will not let the corps down. I am leaving today, not on a sad note, but as a proud father who has transferred his leadership qualities to my constituent.”
“I hereby, transfer not only the symbol of leadership but over 59, 000 personnel compared to the 9,000 I inherited, well equipped structures such as the Civil Defence Academy, Sauka, Abuja, College of Conflict and Security Management in Katsina State, College of Management Studies in Abeokuta, over 35 office rooms, temporary national headquarters, compared to the three (3) rooms rented apartment I met on ground.
“I am also handing over well-built staff housing quarters , and above all, I am handing over thousands of well trained and developed manpower to mention but a few, and visible documents to attest to the numerous achievements I have announced here today.”
Meanwhile, the newly appointed Commandant General of the Corps, Mr. Abdullahi Mohammed Gana who described his appointment as divine has promised to sustain the legacies and result oriented policies of his predecessor, Prof. Ade Abolurin
