The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has recovered 10-year-old boy from traffic crash along Lagos-Ibadan. The FRSC Oluyole Unit Commander, Assistant Corps Commander Sanya Adeoye told newsmen in Ibadan on Thursday that the mother of the boy identified as Emmanuel had lost his mother in the accident.
According to him, the woman and another passenger died in the accident which
involved a 14-seater passenger vehicle with registration number LND 588 XC.
He told CEOAFRICA reporter that the vehicle loaded from Iwo road motor park, heading to Lagos, Adeoye said among the survival of the crash was a little boy who lost his mother in the fatal crash.
He said that the lone traffic crash was due to tyre burst.He added that the boy was receiving treatment at Ibadan Central Hospital, Oke-Ado while the remains of his mother had been deposited at the State Hospital, Yemetu.
He lamented the failure of the woman to fill the vehicle's manifest had made it difficult for the FRSC to located her relations and hand over the boy to them.
While bemoaning some passengers' attitudes towards filing the vehicle's manifest, he said "the manifest would have enable the FRSC get in touch with relatives of the deceased.
"It makes our job easier in case of traffic crash though we do not pray it happens,"he said. He assured that the FRSC had put in place measures aimed at reducing traffic crashed especially during the ember months and festive periods.
